Magic: Conspiracy comes out June 6, 2014.  It is the first-ever multiplayer-focused booster set has new Magic cards with new mechanics that enhance multiplayer play. Returning favorites from throughout Magic’s history round out the set and cultivate an environment of deception and treachery. The Magic: The Gathering–Conspiracy set is designed to be drafted with six to eight players who then split into groups of three or four players for free-for-all multiplayer games.

For Friday Night Magic on June 6, Battlegrounds Gaming will run 8-man drafts with Conspiracy.  As soon as we have 8 people, we’ll start a draft.  Entrance fee is $15.

We will do the same thing Saturday at 5pm after our Magic Standard event.

Free RPG day June 21

We are participating in FREE RPG Day again this year!  It takes place June 21, 2014 and we will have 2 events: Whisper and Venom from Noon to 3 and Dungeon Crawl Classics  from 4 to 8.

Warhammer 40k 7th Edition

There is a New Edition of 40K coming on May 24th and I will be able take pre-orders starting May 16.

Here is what I know about it:

  • It consists of 3 hardcover books (1 rulebook, 1 lore, 1 pictures of painted models and armies) in a slipcase.
  • New Psychic Powers phase of the turn.
  • SRP = $85
  • They have not announced a soft-cover version of the rulebook. The Dark Vengeance starter will still have the 6th edition rulebook until the current production run sells out.

Please let me know if you need a copy so I can order enough.

 

Magic Modern – May 10 6pm

Attention Magic Players!

I’m going to host a Modern tournament May 10 at 6:00 pm after our weekly Standard event.  The entrance fee is $10 with a Misty Rainforest for 1st place and a Verdant Catacombs for 2nd.  No proxies are allowed.  It will run 4 rounds of swiss pairings with a cut to a top 4.

Journey Into Nyx Pre-Release

The next Magic the Gathering set is coming out soon!  The pre-release tournaments are on April 26 & 27.  Space is limited so please register early to reserve your spot. Cancellations up to 24 hours before the event will receive a full refund. No refunds for cancellations after then (but you will still get your pre-release pack).  Entrance fee is $30.

About Battlegrounds

Starting December 12, 2021 we are now at 326 WESTPORT AVENUE in Norwalk! In the building behind A Cat’s Place. This new space has separate gaming and retail space. Watch your step as you walk in the door – there is an immediate 2 steps down.

January 13, 2016 is the start of a new era for Battlegrounds Gaming! July 8th, 2011 marked a new day for gaming in Fairfield County as Battlegrounds Gaming opened it’s doors for the first time. We are looking to provide a place for fans of all genres of games to get together to share their favorite hobby. We have tables available for trading card games, board games, Warhammer & 40k, and role-playing games. For the Magic the Gathering player, we will have weekly tournaments for standard and booster drafts!
