Battlegrounds Gaming is holding a special tournament this Saturday to mark the 1 year anniversary of the store.  We are going to open at 11 am (1 hour early) so the tournament can start at noon.  It’s only $25 to enter.  There are 3 sections to this event:

Part 1:  Magic 2013 Sealed
The first 3 rounds will be a sealed event.  Each participant will receive 6 booster packs of the new Magic set M13.  You will have 40 minutes to build a 40-card deck with which to compete.  Each match is a best-of-3 series.  Time limit for each round is 50 minutes.

Part 2:  Standard Constructed
Rounds 4-6 will consist of duels with decks in the ‘standard’ format.  You may build your deck from any sets in the standard-legal format which includes Scars of Mirrodin, Mirrodin Besieged, New Phyrexia, Innistrad, Dark Ascension, Avacyn Restored, Magic 2012 and the brand new Magic 2013.  Each match is a best-of-3 series.  Time limit for each round is 50 minutes.

Part 3:  Top 8 Booster Draft
After 6 rounds, the top 8 players in the standings will sit down and draft Magic 2013.  This is where the tournament becomes elimination-style:  lose a match and you are out.  Winners advance.

Prizes will be determined by the number of participants and will be distributed to the Top 8 players.

Parking is limited in our lot and there are 3 other businesses in the mall.  Since many of the players will be here for many hours, please park in the empty lot just a bit south of Battlegrounds Gaming.  It is just on the other side of the appliance store.
